Theme: Step out of Crisis, Meet with Future
Under the economic globalization, the modern international logistics industry has been growing rapidly. As a node of global integrated transportation network, port is playing an important role in the modern logistics developments.
With the economic recovery, the port and shipping industry is trying, in 2010, to step out of the crisis. China’s stable economic development is a great opportunity for the recovery of the port and shipping industry. Cooperation between China and other countries in port and shipping industry has been paid more and more attention. Local governments have increased investments in ports and ports scale has been continuously expanded.
The International Port & Shipping Development Forum 2010 is providing a platform for governments, organizations and companies to introduce the latest port expansion schemes, as well as to explore solutions for tomorrow’s port and shipping industry development.
The International Port & Shipping Development Forum 2010 will take place from the 27th to the 28th of September 2010 in Shanghai, China.

The Forum is organized by China Ports & Harbors Association, China Ship-owners Association, Europe-China Commercial Union, Shanghai Municipal Transport and Port Authority and Shanghai Municipal Hongkou District People’s Government.
During the 2-day conference, representatives from the Ministry of Transport of the People’s Republic of China, national and international organizations, leaders from the ports and shipping companies, as well as International Marine research institutions will deliver speeches on major issues that need to be addressed for the International Ports & Shipping Development.
The following matters are currently of great concern to the ports and shipping development in China: - Opportunities in port logistic industry due to the globalization - Future of port modernization (information management, green port, etc.) - Scope of Shanghai international shipping centre - Cooperation between international port and shipping companies during the post-crisis period - Chinese financial operations policy for the port and shipping industry - Role of International Banks in the International Ports & Shipping Development
The International Port & Shipping Development Forum 2010 is also expected to attract many companies from different provinces and areas of China. 2. Visit of the 12th International Exhibition on Ports, Shipping & Logistics The 12th International Exhibition on Ports, Shipping & Logistics, organized by China Ports & Harbors Association, will be held from 27th September to 29th September 2010 in Shanghai Exhibition Center. Since 1988, this Exhibition has been held for 11 sessions. It brings together ports, port machinery companies, shipping companies, logistics companies and consulting companies for technology exchange and intensive cooperation. In 2008, about 101 companies attended the exhibition and it covers an area of 4600 square meters. This year the Exhibition will cover an area of 7000 square meters, with three professional areas separately for port and shipping companies, port machinery and shipping equipment companies as well as logistics companies.
3. Visit of 2010 Shanghai Expo 2010 Shanghai Expo will take place from 1th May to 31th October 2010 in Shanghai China. It is supposed to attract about 200 nations and international organizations as well as 70 million visitors from all over the world to participate this exhibition, which is focusing on the theme “Better City, Better Life”. The participants will display urban civilization to the full extent, exchange the urban development experiences disseminate advanced notions on cities and explore new approaches to human habitat and working conditions in the new century during the EXPO. It is a fantastic opportunity for you to see the world from a new and interesting perspective.
